Acure Shampoo & Conditioner

Acure hit the mark with these and filled the huge void in green beauty that was aching for an affordable shampoo and conditioner that effortlessly cleans the hair.

I’m going to keep this review short and sweet with a list of reasons why Acure’s shampoos and conditioners are the sh*t.

  • Affordable and accessible. They can usually be found at health food stores for less than $10. I even saw them at T.J. Maxx earlier this week.
  • Amazing scents. I’ve used both the Peppermint and Echinacea volumizing formula and the Lemongrass clarifying formula and love them both. I would describe the Lemongrass formula as ‘lovely and lemony’ and the Echinacea and Peppermint formula is the perfect fresh and floral scent.
  • The shampoo doesn’t leave the hair feeling uncomfortable gritty or too squeaky clean. But still does leave the hair  looking and feeling clean!
  • The conditioners have great de-tangling and smoothing effects but don’t leave the hair weighed down.
  • Of course, primarily natural ingredients and formulations that are free of sulfates and parabens!

I also wanted to add that I found the Clarifying formula to actually be quite ‘clarifying’ – meaning that it gave a lot of body to my hair but still left the strands feeling smooth and polished.

I also found the Volumizing formula to actually give my (fine and very straight) hair some extra volume, texture, and body that lasts between washes. The volume and texture even keeps my scalp from looking too oily in between washes.

Leave me a comment if you’ve tried Acure’s shampoo and conditioner line and let me know which one was your favorite! ♥

P.S. You may have read my blog posts from a couple of years back preaching the good grace of some shampoo and conditioner bars that I used for a long time off of Etsy. I still think these are phenomenal, but, they did have some minor inconveniences that I just didn’t want to deal with for a while (read more about these, again, very minor inconveniences in this post). I’m working full time, preparing to go to esthetics school, and pouring a lot into doing freelance makeup on the side, and need my beauty routine to be as simple and fast as possible at this point which is why I decided to switch to Acure’s liquid shampoo and conditioner for a while. I may go back to shampoo and conditioner bars someday though!
