5 Product Face | Collab With Madeline Bay

Simple make up is my favorite make up. I’ve partnered with Kara of Madeline Bay to show two versions of a Clean Beauty 5 Product Face.

MadelineBay.com is beautiful clean beauty and lifestyle blog. Kara shares her thoughts and experiences on products, healthy recipes, and inspirational stories and thoughts on life in general. Not only is her writing beautiful and insightful but her photos are gorgeous! I love seeing her photos every time I visit Madeline Bay and on a more daily basis on Instagram – her photos are so well lit and soft that I feel like they even communicate a sense calm.

Below is Kara’s all natural 5 Product Face.

Kara:

Whether it was the time (or two!) I misused bronzer for contouring (fun fact: orange jawlines aren’t very flattering) or the hours of Lisa Eldridge tutorials I’ve studied, I’ve come to appreciate the beauty of a clean and simple makeup look. Plus, in my experience, if you’ve got the essentials right, everything else (like a bold lip or glittery eyeshadows) is just icing on the cake. So, with that in mind, here are my top five beauty products that will take you from a day at the office to a night on the town.

Foundation: I’ve tried them all, and nothing beats the Essentials Foundation by Sappho. With light to medium coverage, this foundation creates that perfect “my skin, but better” appearance, evens skin tone, doesn’t stick to dry patches and offers amazing all-day wear.

Concealer: A lighter foundation may mean spending a little extra time concealing, but with the Hynt Duet Perfecting Concealer, it’s time well spent. This medium to full coverage concealer covers everything from dark circles to stubborn blemishes while still being completely undetectable.

Blush: The Kjaer Weis cream blush in ‘Lovely’ may be an initial investment, but trust me, it’s one worth making. This blush creates a beautiful rosy-pink flush, looks so fresh and natural, and lasts all.day.long. Plus, I use this blush constantly, and still haven’t hit pan!

Eyebrows: A mis-guided adolescence left me with sparse, thin brows. It wasn’t until I tried the Plume Brow Pomade that I realized what an impact fuller brows can have on the architecture of my face. Plus this product is infused with the Plume growth serum which means I’m nourishing my brows with every swipe of the brush.

Mascara: If I could only have one beauty product for the rest of my life, it would be mascara. I love that such a simple product can instantly brighten my face, add a bit of polish and help me take on the day with confidence. I’m currently loving the layered effect of 100% Pure + Honest Beauty, but also have a soft spot for Lily Lolo and Hynt Beauty mascaras.

Thank you so much for partnering with me on this Kara!♥

I decided to take a Parisian approach to my 5 Product Face. I find that I take this approach often (even when I’m not trying to do my make up quickly or with only a few products). I just love the perfectly undone look with some pops of color.

The Gressa Minimalist Corrective Serum Foundation and the RMS Beauty Tinted Un Powder are my go to’s for quick and easy coverage that lasts all day. I use about 1 drop of the Gressa Serum Foundation to cover 1 half of my face (including my eye area) and then use a small amount of the Un Powder to set my face and eye area.

My go to for quick and less sculpted brows is the 100% Pure Long Lasting Brows Pomade. I typically use a brow powder that it is a bit darker than my actual brow color to make them stand out a bit more. Since this pomade is more tacky than powdery it lightly shapes my brows by keeping the hairs in place and since this shade (Taupe) matches my natural hair color pretty well I find that I don’t have to be as careful when applying the product.

The key to a parisian inspired look is a couple of pops of color. This is my favorite part. Root Pretty’s Merlot blush is literally the exact same color as your favorite bottle of merlot and is the perfect striking color to add to the cheeks. Au Naturale Cosmetics Spanish Rose Lipstick is the exact sultry red that the French girl inside of me would wear on a daily basis.

  1. Hi Paige. I hope I’m successful in sending this comment. Have messed it up before. Can you tell me where to buy or order that “Free 10” nail polish you wrote about a while ago? I’ve been looking for it with no luck. I’m allergic to nail polish (Yes really!) And really want to wear polish at times. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction. Love, Auntie Jervae
