Minimal & Chic Make Up – Using Natural Products

Today I want to share one of my favorite make up looks. It’s kind of an extreme ‘no make up’ make up look. I barely apply eye shadow; and skip eyeliner and lashes all together. It’s definitely a skin focus look with just a little bit of definition in the crease of the eyelid and on the brows.

I start off by using the Au Naturale Cosmetics Color Theory Creme Corrector stick in the shade Sweet Basil. This shade is best used to combat redness so I use it to help conceal and cancel out some acne marks and scars.

Then I press the Gressa Minimalist Corrective Serum Foundation into my skin using a dry (beauty blender like) make up sponge. This serum foundation can be applied nicely with certain make up brushes as well, but I think that it looks much more seamless and smoother when applied with a make up sponge.

I did set the foundation with the Bare Minerals Original Mineral Veil in the picture above but this foundation doesn’t necessarily need to be set with powder.

Next I apply blush, bronzer, and highlighter.

Blush is Silk Naturals in the shade ‘Climax’. The Silk Naturals website says that this blush is a dupe for the infamous Nars blush in the shade ‘Organsm’. I’m not super familiar with the Nars blush so I can’t say whether or not I agree with that statement. However I will say that this blush adds a lovely and youthful peachy color to the cheeks. For bronzer I used Bare Minerals ‘Warmth” and for highlighter I used Alima Pure’s ‘Lumina’. If you want more details on ‘Warmth’ and ‘Lumina’ then check out this post  and this post 🙂

For the slight definition on the eyes I mixed a tiny bit of ‘Lumina’ with a small amount of the purple on the bottom left in the Pacifica ‘Power Of Love’ palette.

I actually didn’t intend to use the small amount of purple eyeshadow,  it was just leftover on the brush from the day before. But I loved the way that it turned out. It doesn’t really even look like eyehshadow was applied, but it just adds a little something on the eyes.

Lastly I outlined and filled in my brows every so lightly to make them stand out just a bit. I love using the 100% Pure Long Lasting Brows Pomade for subtle brows because it is a very buildable product. If you use a lot of product then you can absolutely get defined and dramatic brows but if you use a small amount like I did then the brows will have a softer and more natural look.

To finish off the look I applied the Bare Minerals Moxie Plumping Gloss in the shade ‘Rebel’ and layered the shade ‘Charmer’ on top to create a pink/nude glossy lip.

Obviously more eyeshadow, eyeliner, and mascara could be added to this look and it could still be a very fast and minimal make up look. The last few months I have just been loving skipping liner and mascara (and shadow more or less). For some reason it makes me feel very chic when I do my make up extra minimal like this. Does anyone else feel this way?

What are your favorite ways to achieve a chic make up look?

Thanks for reading!

With love ♥ Paige
