Ilia Satin Cream Lip Crayon in Tainted Love & Pure Eyeliner in Havana Affair | Thoughts, Swatches, + Other Make Up

I have always been interested in Ilia as a brand. Whenever I think of Ilia, I just think of the beautiful and wide range of lip colors that they offer. Being a devout lipstick lover, Ilia always appealed to me for that reason. Recently,  I finally got the chance to try out some Ilia products.

Of course, I had to try out a lip product. I chose to try the Satin Cream Lip Crayon in the shade Tainted Love.

I wore Tainted Love nearly everyday for a good month and half after I bought it. I love a deep colored lip and Tainted Love is the perfect everyday pink-berry tone with a good amount of depth to it. Along with being a super pigmented formula, this lippie is also quite long lasting. At work, I always tell people that the Satin Cream Lip Crayon is the perfect ‘in between’ of a  lip balm and liquid lipstick. The color lasts on the lip for a good four hours but isn’t drying like most long lasting lip products are.

My favorite thing about this lippie though, is, the packaging. Since the formula is in more of a crayon like stick as opposed to the traditional bullet shaped lipstick, it can be used to line the lips and then also be used to fill in the lips. So, its basically a lip liner and a non drying long lasting lipstick in one.

All of this plus not having to find a lip liner that matches with the lipstick? Yes please.

The formula dries rather matte, is comfortable, doesn’t smudge, and looks great with gloss over top. My favorite way to wear this lipstick is with a bit of RMS Beauty’s Living Luminizer underneath. (Pictured in this post)

The second Ilia product that I tried recently is the Pure Eyeliner in the shade Havana Affair. Ilia’s website describes this shade as a ‘blackened gold’. I do agree with this color description but I also see some olive green and forest green hues coming through. I love wearing dark greenish gold colors as eye make up so I was instantly sold on this shade.

This product is a gel liner like formula and is in retractable packaging. Super convenient. It applies very smooth, isn’t messy and the formula is very forgiving.

The color pay off with this liner is good, the intensity does die down after about 3 or 4 hours though. This could be a deal breaker for some, but I personally don’t mind sacrificing a bit of longevity when it comes to eyeliner if it means that I can remove the formula easily when I need to. I don’t find it absolutely necessary most days, but sometimes I will just do a quick reapplication of this liner if the color has faded on me – & since the formula and packaging make application (and reapplication) so quick and easy, having to reapply some liner once through out my day isn’t too big of an issue for me.

This photo is a good representation of what the color intensity of the liner is like after a few hours of wear.

Overall, I have really enjoyed using these two products and would recommend the Satin Cream Lip Crayon to anyone wanting a semi long lasting lip stick that doesn’t dry the lips out and the Pure Eyeliner to anyone who wants an easy to use and forgiving eyeliner that gives natural definition to the eyes.

What Ilia products have you tried and loved? I think my next Ilia purhcase will be a Tinted Lip Condtioner, I love the shades These Days and Jump. I also have my eye on the Pure Eyeliner in the shade My Generation – it’s a super pretty deep plum color. Again, Ilia kills it with the wide range of classic and colorful shades they offer in their products.

Thanks for reading!

Other make up I am wearing in these photos –

Gressa Minimalist Corrective Serum Foundation in 01 (over the eye and under eye area as well) – in love with this formula, coverage is amazing and looks so skin like.

Bare Minerals Hydrating Mineral Veil to set entire face, eye area, and under eye area.

Bare Minerals Warmth All Over Face Color as bronzer and Bare Minerals Rose Radiance Loose Highlighting Powder as blush (can’t get enough of these, I mentioned them in my first ever blog post and still love them just as much now as I did then).

Lily Lolo Skinny Dip eye shadow all over outer and middle lid and in the crease and Lily Lolo Stark Naked eye shadow on inner portion of my lid (both colors are from the Lily Lolo Laid Bare Eye Palette).

Alima Pure Natural Definition Mascara in Brown.

Living Luminizer from RMS Beauty under neath Ilia Satin Cream Lip Crayon to keep the finish looking more satin rather than matte.

Filled in and defined the shape of my brows with Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz in Dark Brown and 100% Pure Long Last Brows Pomade in Taupe. I’m currently growing my brows out to do some reshaping, every time I go to fill in/define my brows all I can think to myself is ‘Bless This Mess’. Ha. #BrowProblems.
