Skip the Powders: Consider trying a non-matte cream or liquid foundation; it may blend a little more seamlessly into your skin and resist settling into fine lines. The end result is a very fresh, youthful finish that will last through the day. If you have combination or oily skin like me, apply a bit of translucent powder through the t-zone and where you’ve concealed.

Favorite Setting / Translucent Powders: RMS Un-Cover Up (Untinted) or W3LL People Brightening Powder

Less is More: Even if your skin isn’t perfect, consider trying a lighter coverage foundation and relying instead on a good concealer to cover any blemishes or dark spots. The end result will be much more natural and you’ll avoid any unwanted cakiness.

Favorite Foundations: Sappho Essentials Foundation, Ere Perez Oat Milk Foundation
Favorite Concealer: Hynt Beauty Duet Perfecting Concealer

Hydrate: Water is not only the key to our survival, but also the key to more youthful skin. If you need a little extra boost, though, try a hydrating mist to refresh both your skin and your makeup throughout the day.

Favorite Hydrating Mist: Josh Rosebrook Hydrating Accelerator

Skincare, Skincare, Skincare
: I love beauty products, but nothing can compensate for a good skincare routine. Once you find the right products, you may actually find yourself spending less time on your base and more time playing around with fun things like eyeshadows and lip colors!

Favorite Skincare: Leahlani, May Lindstrom, Maya Chia, Pai

Use Some Cream Makeup – Adding a little bit of cream makeup on bareskin, liquid foundation, setting powder, or even powder foundation will not only add luminosity but it will also add flattering but also natural looking dimension. In the photo above I have on a cream eyeshadow  and highlighter. Cream blush is also always beautiful!

Cream eyeshadow here is RMS Beauty’s Solar Eye Polish.

Apply A Small Amount Of Blush To The Forehead – We all have some extra flush and color in various parts of our face. Adding some rosiness or peachy-ness to the forehead above each brow arch will evenly distribute the color throughout the face and leave the skin with some healthy looking color.

Use A Flat Top Angled Brush For Brows – This will give the brows a nice fluffy undone look while adding a touch of color. It will also create much softer definition than a more pointed and stiff angled brush might give.

Pictured below is 100% Pure’s Angled Brush, Lily Lolo also makes a great flat top angled brush!

Apply A Darker Lipstick To The Center Of The Lips And Blend It Out – Most natural ingredient based dark lipstick shades will easily stain the lips a bit. I love applying a bit of a darker shade to the center of my lips and blending it out with my finger. Using a small amount of product and sheering it out like this will leave a gorgeous and natural looking stain on the lips.

Pictured here is Rituel De Fille’s Love In Madness. I also love Ilia’s Tainted Love for this technique.
