Plant Apothecary ‘Get Happy’ Bodywash – Something Nice

Today’s post is pretty light hearted. I just wanted to write about something nice and this all natural body wash fit my ‘something nice’ criteria.

A couple of weeks ago I went to Target to pick up some replacement razor blades (glamorous, I know). While I was there I browsed around a bit (as one must do when at Target) and, to no surprise of my own (or anyone who knows me), I ended up spending most of my time in the ‘naturals’ isle. (Could I USE anymore parenthesis? Haha, long shot, but let me know if you get this F R I E N D S reference).

Target has steadily been increasing the amount of natural beauty products they carry over the last couple of years. As of right now, they don’t have a ton of make up itmes but they do have a decent selection of natural skin care and personal care products. Most of the products were semi affordable (between $10 and $20-ish).

This Plant Apothecary body wash however, was only $4.99 (I believe this is a sample size). With a lovely ingredient list, an intriguing scent, and a relatively low price tag, I couldn’t pass it up.

A couple of posts back I mentioned that one of the things that I miss about conventional beauty is being able to pick up an small and inexpensicve ‘treat yo-self’ beauty product at the store. I’m sure that most green beauty lovers can relate to this as often times we have to purchase our favorite beauty products directly from the brands website. So, in addition to finding a ‘something nice’ worthy natural body wash, I also thought it was quite nice to see that Target was offering even more all natural beauty options.

Now I suppose I should get into talking about the actual body wash, perhaps that’s why you clicked on this post haha.

I mentioned earlier that this this body wash had an intriguing scent, Peppermint & Geranium. I had never really imagined any floral scent paired with a mint scent. I love floral scents and peppermint though so I though the odds were pretty high that I would like this combination. I LOVE these two scents together.

While lathering the body wash in the shower I could smell quite a bit of the peppermint scent (no complaints there) but a couple of hours after getting out of the shower there was still a lingering fresh floral scent left on my skin. Add a cup of peppermint tea and some dark chocolate to the mix and you’ve got yourself an effortless and relaxing evening.

This body wash also gets pretty sudsy when lathered up as most natural liquid soaps do 🙂

In addition to the actual product, Plant Apothecary’s story makes the brand even more worth trying out.

Plant Apothecary was started by a husband and wife team and is based out of Brooklyn. Aside from offering a wide selection of all natural skincare and other shower essentials, PLANT also makes all of their products in the U.S. and works with BKLYN UNLTD. BKLYN UNLTD is a non profit organization that offers training and work for adults with mental and physical disabilities. I love finding companies that choose to give back in ways like this.

The list goes on with Plant Apothecary. They use organic ingredients in their products and their products are certified organic when possible (PLANT Apothecary has an awesome blog post explaining what ‘certified organic’ means). PLANT is also a cruelty free company, and strives to keep their products and product packaging environmentally friendly. They pretty much fulfill all of the desirable traits a personal care brand can have and to say that I appreciate this (and this bodywash’s minty floral scent) is an understatement.

Thanks for taking the time to read my rambly ‘something nice’ post. I think one of my favorite parts about blogging is being able to share the small things that make me smile and reading similar posts on other blogs.

Feel free to leave a comment on this post about something nice that you’ve experienced recently.

With love♦
