First Aid Beauty Skin Rescue Face Cream

I am eager to review this product as I had varying experiences with it, but overall a positive experience.

The Skin Rescue Face Cream is lightweight, water based, and oil-free. First Aid Beauty claims that it is non-comedogenic, safe for sensitive skin, allergy tested, and fragrance free. All of these qualities make this moisturizer an excellent option for oily skin, and potentially acne prone skin.

Here’s what other skin types should know about this product

  • Ideal for oily skin.
  • Potentially a good option for normal and combination skin; if the skin doesn’t ever lean on the dry side.
  • Most likely not a good option for dry skin.

Some of the stand-out ingredients in this moisturizer are,

  • Glycerin (humectant, hydrating)
  • Squalane (emollient, moisturizing)
  • Cetyl acid and cetearyl alcohol (fatty alcohol, wax like, moisturizing)

I initially began using this product in mid November of 2020. My skin is best described as oily-combination and acne prone. I did enjoy this product but did not find it to be moisturizing enough for my skin because my skin does occasionally lean on the dry side.

Because my skin is sometimes dry, it tends to benefit from some non-comedogenic oil in a moisturizer. I found myself using a very generous amount of product morning and night to overcompensate for the lack of oil in the product. I used up most of the product in the 1 oz bottle ($22) in just under 2 months.

After this I began using the CeraVe Daily Moisturizing Lotion for Normal to Dry Skin. I had a positive experience with this product. After using this for about a month and a half, I decided to use up the last bit of my Skin Rescue Face Cream. I had been experiencing some breakouts and redness and found that the Skin Rescue Face Cream did increase the clarity and improve the tone of my skin quite a bit.

Many people consider First Aid Beauty to be a a ‘clean beauty’ brand, meaning that they use some natural ingredients and some synthetic. First Aid Beauty’s about page emphasizes that their products are created to be sensitive skin friendly.

First Aid Beauty is certified cruelty free by PETA but is not certified cruelty free Logical Harmony.
