Fall Appreciation Blog Post

Hello lovelies, I hope everyone had a fantastic start to the month of October! It was quite rainy today where I live but anyone who knows me knows that I absolutely love the rain so I was happy to be able to spend part of my day outside.

I went to a wildlife reserve today for a couple of hours and got a perfect fall photo and I just had to share it.

This leaf stuck to my boot for quite some time so naturally I had to take a picture of it 😉

I also had a new foundation come in the mail today. I tried it out and I was super impressed with it’s lasting power, even though I was outside and it was drizzling.

I am wearing the Organic Creme Foundation Stick by Au Naturale Cosmetics (In the shade Porcelain). More to come about this product and brand on the blog!

While enjoying the wildlife reserve I thought a little bit about how green beauty products are not only much better for human health, but also much less hazardous to the environment. There are many ingredients in mainstream cosmetics that are harmful to the environment. An example is the use of silicone’s in make up, skin care products, and hair care/styling products. Silicone’s are most often used is foundations, concealers, lotions, and hair conditioning products. They basically coat the skin or hair with a plastic like film, this makes the skin and hair feel moisturized and nourished but doesn’t actually moisturize or nourish. Along with not doing anything positive for the hair and skin, silicone’s are also not biodegradable, which means that when they are eventually washed off of the skin or hair and go down the drain into our environment they will not decompose.

The Au Naturale Organic Creme Foundation Stick is incredibly nourishing without any silicone’s.

Thanks for reading!
