I have tried A LOT of green beauty makeup products. I’ve loved and lost when it comes to the dollars that I have spent trying to find the best green beauty options to stock my professional kit and personal makeup stash with. It has certainly been a fun process but I have to admit that I do regret some of the green beauty purchases that I have made.
Yes, there are many ‘good’ green beauty products. The trouble with green beauty though, is that many of these products that work good enough, are priced similarly to conventional products that perform phenomenally from high-end brands like NARS, Charlotte Tilbury, etc. The bold truth that the beauty industry is rediscovering is that, natural ingredients are generally more expensive and not as effective in beauty products due to a lack of emulsion, potential coverage, and pigment and color consistency.
What about natural makeup that is lower in price and available at health food stores?
They’re not bad options. I’ll be touching on this more soon!
The products mentioned in this post differ from other green beauty products in a couple very important ways.
- They perform comparably (or better!) to other tried and true conventional products at similar prices.
- Decent, to good, to phenomenal shade ranges
- Suitable for most skin types
- I have used them extensively on myself and clients and they never disappoint.
- I feel confident that most consumers who try these products will find value in them.
Skin Prep: Suntegrity 5 in 1 Tinted Moisturizer
This has it all. SFF, sheer tint with light coverage, hyaluronic acid, moisture, and sits great on the skin on its own, or under foundation or concealer.
Base: Alima Pure Satin Matte Foundation
A loose powder foundation with minimal and natural ingredients, buildable medium coverage, layers well with other products, a great shade range, and suitable for nearly all skin types. Alima Pure also retails generous samples of their Satin Matte Foundation.
Bronzer & Blush: Bare Minerals
Most of Bare Minerals loose powder products contain mainly natural ingredients. I love their Warmth bronzer and the shades Golden Gate, Hint, and Rose Radiance as blush.
Highlighter: RMS Beauty Luminizers
These cream highighters are a dream and come in a variety of shades for various skin tones. The Living Luminzer is my all time favorite. It gives the most beautiful and chic glow to fair to light skin. The Luminizers do remain a touch sticky on the skin after applied. If you prefer a powder highlighter, I recommend Alima Pure’s loose powder highlighters.

Eyes: Matte Sappho Eyeshadows
Again, these are a dream. Super easy to blend, very pigmented, long lasting, and a fantastic shade range of matte neutrals. Victoria, Beckitt, Turtle, Chloe, and Jono are some of my go-to shades for eyeshadow. Chloe, Jono, Raven, and Amanda are some of my favorites to use in place of liner.
Eyes: Alima Pure Loose Mineral Eyeshadows
I love these for pigmented shimmery shades. Chai, Breathless, and Grace are a couple of my favorite shades.
Eyeliner: Alima Pure Natural Definition Eye Pencils
These are great for everyday wear. The shade ‘Black’ is a true dark black and the shade ‘Coffee’ is the perfect cool toned brown. Alima’s ‘Raven’ brow pencil also makes for a great eyeliner.
Lips: Kosas Lipstick or RMS Beauty Lip2Cheek
These are both great options. Kosas lipsticks are very similar in feel, weight, texture, and lasting power to most high performing conventional lipsticks. The RMS Lip2Cheeks have a great creamy texture and are designed to be used on both the cheeks and lips.
What about mascara, eye primer, and brow products? To be honest I haven’t found ‘holy grail’ worthy natural options for these. The products mentioned in this post are ones that perform just as well as conventional options, and cannot say that is true for any of the natural mascaras, eye primers, or brow products I have tried.
My best advice for these products is to stick with what you already know and love and to keep an eye out for new green beauty launches for these types of products!
Thank you Paige!
