Baking Soda Free Deoderant : Agent Nateur vs. Meow Meow Tweet

Deodorant is easily one of the most difficult personal care products to switch over to natural for most people.

There are a couple of things to be mindful of while enduring the switch to natural deodorant.

Humans naturally sweat, therefor when using a deodorant made of natural ingredients, you are likely to perspire.

There will also be a transitional period where you may sweat or experience more odor than usual. This is often referred to as a detox period and will usually last about 3 to 6 months. It is possible to minimize odor during this time by eating extra veggies and drinking extra water.

Baking soda works amazing for absorbing odor under the arms so it is a common ingredient in natural deodorants. But many people are sensitive to baking soda under the arms and can experience rash like breakouts when using a natural deodorant with baking soda. This was the case for me which is why I am reviewing two natural and baking soda free deodorants

Agent Nateur Sensitive holi (stick)

Pro’s

  • keeps odor away for at least a good 8 hours, if not, all day (on me at least)
  • in a stick form
  • formula is not very temperature sensitive which means that it won’t get terribly melted or frozen – like during the warmer/colder months
  • scented with a beautiful blend of essential oils that acts almost like a subtle natural perfume that lingers throughout the day
  • leaves minimal residue on clothing

Con’s

  • I do find that I sweat more through this deodorant than the Meow Meow Tweet
  • while its great that it is in a stick form and that the formula is relatively temperature stable, the formula does tug a bit more on the underarm than what I would like when being applied
  • have to apply the product liberally for best results
  • retails at $28 which, for me, is a bit steep for a deodorant

Meow Meow Tweet Baking Soda Free Deodorant Cream

Pro’s

  • minimal amounts of perspiration with this one (love that!)
  • formula is very emollient once it is warmed up on the fingers and doesn’t tug the underams when applied
  • retails at $14, still a bit steep (for me) for a deodorant but I do appreciate that it is half the price of the Agent Nateur Sensitive Stick
  • leaves minimal residue on clothing

Con’s

  • not in a stick form – having to scoop out my deodorant with my fingers and then rub it on my armpits is my least favorite thing about this one
  • while this deodorant does keep odor at bay for a good 8 hours sometimes, I find that minimal odor will almost always start to come through after about 8 hours of wear, sometimes sooner
  • have to apply the product liberally for best results

Hoping to write a review on the Meow Meow Tweet Baking Soda Free stick deodorant next! Thanks for reading ♦
