Happy Monday everyone!
A couple of weeks back I purchased some products from Alima Pure. I had heard wonderful things about the Alima Pure Satin Matte Foundation so when I saw that they were coming out with a Liquid Foundation I was very excited to try it.
I wanted to love this foundation so badly but in all honesty I have to say that I was very disappointed with this product. The product just doesn’t apply well. It is only designed to give a sheer coverage which it does provide, but it is not flattering on the skin. It clings to dry patches, emphasizes pores, and actually tends to clump up in certain parts of my face even after it has been spread out with a brush. I especially had problems with it clumping up on the sides of my nose. I tried applying this foundation multiple ways and I just could not get it to work. If anyone else has had a better experience with this foundation please let me know how you were able to get it to work! Overall though I would not recommend this product.
Alima Pure also put out a new cream concealer at the same time that they released the Liquid Silk Foundation. I actually didn’t have super high hopes for this product, but again since I had heard good things about Alima Pure’s powder face products and because I had heard that cream products are worth embracing in the green beauty world I figured that I would give it a shot, and I am so glad that I did. I love it!
To start off, the concealer is really great for under the eyes, it does a pretty good job of not creasing, does cover darkness around the eyes, and is very moisturizing. The concealer is also very brightening which is great for under the eyes of any other part of the face that looks nice when highlighted. I purchased my concealer in the shade Pearl and I think that the shade is absolutely perfect for very fair skin with pink undertones.
I have also used it all over my face a couple of times and had very positive results. I just dot it around my face (focusing on the areas that I need more coverage) and then blend it out with a foundation brush.
As you can see in the ‘after’ picture this product Β isn’t going to give you the equivalent of a full coverage foundation but it will give just a little coverage to even out the skin tone without taking away all of the color in the face so it’s not absolutely necessary to use blush or bronzer afterwards. Its kind of just like the ultimate ‘no make up’ make up look.
Although I didn’t love the Liquid Silk Foundation, I was very impressed with the cream concealer and the other products that I tried out from Alima Pure. I will be writing a blog post about the other products that I tried from Alima Pure and have a lot of really good things to say about the products so stay tuned!
I’d also love to hear what other Alima Pure products anyone has had good experiences with π
