Dr. Alkaitis skincare products practically saved my skin this year.
During 2014 my skin started breaking out uncontrollably. By the end of 2016 I had nailed down a super simple, natural, and unscented skincare routine that included removing my make up with coconut oil, cleansing with a bar of oatmeal soap, Thayers Alcohol Free Unscented Witch Hazel Toner, and The Honest Company Unscented Face & Body Lotion. These products worked excellent for calming down my skin. But skincare comes in phases and what works for the skin at one point may not be what it needs forever and all eternity; and by the beginning of this year my skin was not responding to the above mentioned skincare routine the way it was before.
Enter, Dr. Alkaitis.
Dr. Alkaitis skincare products are made up of several anti viral, antibacterial, anti-inflammatory plant based ingredients. They are formulated to soothe and balance the skin and are ideal for sensitive skin and acne prone skin. Below are all of the Dr. Alkaitis products that I have used up this year.
Organic Facial Cleanser
This cleanser cleans effectively but doesn’t strip the skin or leave it feeling dry. It has a lovely soothing herbal scent and contains enzymes that gently exfoliate the skin.
Organic Night Cream
This one has probably been my favorite. It is a rich and ultra nourishing and hydrating cream. I felt like this product repaired my skin from the years of inflammation, breakouts, and using drying acne products that contained things like benzoyl peroxide. My skin felt stronger, plumper, and more hydrated than it had in years after I started using this.
Soothing Gel
This is an aloe vera based hydrator that does wonders for sensitive skin. It can be used as a toner between cleansing and moisturizing, as a hydrator/moisturizer on its own, or it can be mixed with a facial oil to help absorption of the oil.
Nourishing Treatment Oil
I mixed this facial oil with the Soothing Gel and used them together as my moisturizer (alternating days with the Organic Night Cream). The Treatment Oil is jojoba oil based which makes it highly unlikely to clog the pores because jojoba oil is very close to the skins natural oils.
The above was my regimen for a solid 6 month (at least) and I truly believe that it healed my skin. Moving forward, I am wanting to incorporate some more hydrating cleansers, lighter moisturizers, and possibly reintroducing a little bit of salycilic acid. For a few years before I started using Dr. Alkaitis my skin was way too sensitive for salycilic acid; but I have tried using it sparingly the last few months and found that my skin was actually responding well to it – I 100% attribute this to the healing properties of the Dr. Alkaitis skincare.
Dr. Alkaitis products did heal my skin but they didn’t necessarily heal my acne. I honestly think that the likelihood of any product or product line curing acne is very small. It’s all about having healthy habits, staying hydrated, and paying attention to what products the skin likes and dislikes for any given period of time. I think healing the skin and balancing the skin is definitely a step in the right direction to decreasing problematic skin though; which I why I had to share Dr. Alkaitis Skincare on my blog. Thanks for reading. ♥
